Sugarlesque was a small lingerie brand based in the UK created in 2007 by Ruka Johnson, a London girl obsessed with pretty things. She started out by making nipple tassels and ostrich feather fans for her showgirl friends, which took off so much that she later decided it was time to move into lingerie and accessories.
Ruka is proud to make all of her lingerie by hand completely from scratch; her favourite pieces being custom costumes for burlesque showgirls and performers. All fabrics and materials are sourced in the UK, and often pieces of lingerie are created using fabric scraps donated by friends and family.
So when you buy a pair of panties from Sugarlesque, you can be sure that you're supporting British industry and are buying a unique handmade piece that's been crafted with time, patience and love. And of course, your lingerie carbon footprint is significantly lower !
The Sugarlesque Boutique (formerly in Kingly Court, London) is now unfortunately closed but studio appointments and/or fittings can still be arranged.
